NEWS

January 2008

Happy new year, folks. Ya know, I've set some resolutions in stone this year. And they can't just be levigated with grit carborundum(Get it, you lithographers? NO? I don't care). I am actively on the search for my new professional challenge with a new company. I'm also pushing along my next cohesive body of print work. Slowly. But also semi-professionally.
The end of this month comes moving day..! I'm relocating within Santa Ana, in hopes of being able to store my vintage silkscreens sans-adjacent to socks, or acrylic paints away from my applejuice. Either way, my studio space will be expanding farther out than my bed. This is good, no? Updates hopefully coming for frequently, and you can always check out more here.

Well, it's been a good one. Hello 2008!

June 2007

It's summer time, and I'm due for an update, a haircut, and time off work. Thankfully, I've gotten all those things. Check out the gallery for new featured art, and look forward to my sketchbook that'll be available soon. Within this past month I revisited ol' North Carolina. The reason? For starters, Another wedding! My long time friend Mark married Lauren in Raleigh, where I served as the best man. In a zoot suit. Awesome, indeed. This trip of two weeks allowed me some slow-pace free time with friends(though I wished I'd seen even more of them), catch up, marrying off my bud, and return as my position as printing instructor at C.A.M.P., the arts camp for kids. This year, the awesome Crystal Bryant joined as my assistant, and we printed more than ever. And as a bonus, I gained the time and inspiration for a new linoleum cut print. Watch for it. I've continued working on designs, and to really get me working, I'm looking to enroll in a new course in printmaking at Goldenwest in Huntington Beach.
I'd like to send my best wishes to Joshua Magno, who is leaving CA for CO. Awesome working with you.
To everyone, continue staying in touch!

February 2007

A big update for the New Year. Year of the Boar, infact, on the Chinese zodiac. I just recently returned from a breif cross-country trip for the wedding of my friends(and excellent artists) Danny and Laura. Congrats!
Currently, I'm working full time and focusing on my next body of work in printmaking. Sketches pile up in my room. Notes jotted on several post-its. There will be a few pieces I'm adding to my print portfolio for submission for my MFA at Cal State Long Beach and Art Institute Sanfrancisco. You can check out a few things added to the site, and in the interest of ol' mentor and friend Ehlbeck, I'll be putting together a slideshow sometime of all I'm upto in beautiful California. Get your popcorn ready.

The site relaunch, up and running!

June 2006

I'm in the process of submitting to a few shows and moving out to California. Being swamped with things to do means there is plenty of work coming out of me, even if it isn't all new art work.
You can check out cjroger's Project Designer Cycle 4, an online design competition that I'm taking part in as 'wakasashe-fashion'.

Thank you to all who were able to be at my recent opening reception. The show at Chowan will be up until March 31st in the Green Hall Gallery. I'm currently on spring break for the week, hoping my last few weeks in Murfreesboro will be my busiest!

It was an excellent experience working with Kathy & Randi Dikeman and the whole Halifax County Arts Council! The reception was a huge showing of art enthusiasts. I hope all had a great time and continue to support the arts in the region. My next endeavor is an Artist Residency I was awarded at Chowan College. I will be having a new showing of work in the area soon.

Thank you for visiting. While still under construction, this site will be updated to reflect my current ventures and activities in the field of art.

Recently, my senior exhibition, "Fragments of Memoirs and Metaphors" just came down after closing reception in conjunction with the Greenville Holiday Artwalk 2005. Many thanks to Jennifer Carson and Melissa Walter, who also featured exceptional work, and to all those who made it possible.

After a short vacation out to California, I will be returning to North Carolina in January to set up for my next showing in Roanoke Rapids. Be sure to check back as updates become availible.
